Established in 1998 as a sister museum to the Toy Museum in Seiffen, Germany, the Karuizawa Erz Toy Museum celebrates the rich tradition of German craftsmanship. Our exhibits showcase traditional wooden toys from the Erzgebirge region, reflecting a shared spirit of artistry that resonates with Japanese folk culture.
